Searchable Blog Post Ideas (with examples)

Here comes a small list of blog post ideas for when you’re stuck and can’t think of anything.

Why Should You Start a Blog?

Blogging is a lot of work. Are you ready for that? Are you reaally ready? Remind yourself of why you’re doing this again and look over the main benefits that blogging can bring you:

Authority: Blogging helps establish you as an expert in your field. Sharing insights and valuable information builds trust with your audience.

Traffic: Blogs can drive organic traffic to your website. The more you post valuable content, the more opportunities you have to be discovered via search engines.

SEO: Quality blog posts filled with relevant keywords can boost your search engine rankings. This visibility is crucial for attracting potential customers.

Network: By sharing your content, you can connect with like-minded individuals and create a community around your brand.

Btw, What is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s all about optimizing your content, so it ranks higher in search engines and is more easily found by people on Google or whatever other search engine they may use.

This is pretty important when it comes to blogging—if you don’t have good SEO, it will be a lot harder to get more traffic to your blog and to your website.

The Blog Post Ideas List

So, here is the actual list. I’ve sorted them by the category of posts, though it’s a pretty loose sorting. I have 4 different categories here; How-to & instructional posts, FAQ type of posts, Case studies, and day in the life type of content. Feel free to mix and match and take whatever ideas you like.

How-to: Instructional Blog Posts

How can you help your clients?

The instructional / how-to / helpful / advice, etc. type of blog posts are an absolute classic and for good reason. (btw, this is this type of blog post 😉 )

e.g. For dry cleaner: How to get out a ketchup stain from velvet fabric

For a tailoring service: How to accurately measure your clothing size

For a business coach: How to build your marketing strategy

e.g For a florist: 5 ways to keep your flowers fresh for even longer

For a math tutor: 5 ways to ace your tests without constant stress

For a personal coach: 5 ways to start feeling happier

e.g For a car washing & repairing service: Repairing holes in your car seats: complete step-by-step guide

For a food blogger: Making roux pastry: complete step-by-step guide

FAQ’s: Posts That Answer Your Clients’ (Real or Potential) Questions

What are some questions you anticipate that your clients may ask?

if you preemptively answer them, then you’ve already got a head-start! the people who already know you will be more sure of their decision to buy from you, and new people will consider you more trustworthy and knowledgeable than others.

e.g. For CRM software: Using a local vs cloud CRM

For a publisher: Self-publishing vs traditional publishing

For a fitness coach: Running vs strength training

e.g For a social marketing expert: How do I get more views on Instagram?

For an interior designer: How do I choose the best wall color for my living room?

Case Study: Stories of Real People

Any examples you can show of how you helped somebody or how you could help them?

Case studies are amazing! They’re like reviews but even better. People can see themselves in the problems your case study has and the way you help them overcome those problems. This builds a lot of trust in you.

Day in the Life: What You are Like, and How Awesome You are at Your Job

What does your work day look like?

This is a pretty fun blog post to write and is also fun to read.

e.g For a cooking teacher: How I went through three countries, a diploma, and many sleepless nights, to cook this rice pilaf

For a driving instructor: How I kept failing my driving test and how I finally passed and went on to become an instructor (really!)

Lists: Your favorite resources, products, books and others

Link your favorite things and organize them in lists that your readers will find helpful.

These can be:

Interviews: Talk to Other Experts in Your Field

Another great thing to do is to meet up with someone else in your field and talk to them.

You can give them some commonly asked questions and dish out the answers in a blog post. Not only do you get half the work kind of done by someone else, you also get the advantage of having that other person’s audience find out about your existence (and will have an interesting conversation to boot!).

How Often Should You Post?

I’m going to disappoint you a little here and say there is no right answer. It largely depends on what you’re writing about, who your readers are, and, of course, how much you can actually write. The more important thing here is to be consistent with your blog. However often you post, find your own ideal schedule, then stick to it like glue.

Organization Tips

Here are some things I do to keep my own blog organized!

Content Calendar: Very fancy words but all it really is all your blog post ideas with the date you want it to be posted by next to that. If you want to level-up your organization even more, you can track whether each idea is on the planning, drafting, or editing stage and where it has been shared.

Brainstorming Sessions: I used to hate it when people tell you to section out some time to brainstorm. What does brainstorming even mean?? When you get to the ‘brainstorming’ part of your calendar what do you do? You sit and? Wait for the ideas to just appear? Actually, that’s exactly it!

Inspiration: I have several of my favorite blogs and posts saved when I’m really stuck in a creative ditch and can’t think of anything. Try gathering your own favorite blogs as well, and try to analyze what you like from them and what you can copy over to your own site!

Have fun blogging!
